AIRENSETSU (Devotee on Lotus)

愛蓮説

A series of my works inspired deeply from the famous poem, “Devotee on Lotus” elaborated by Zhou Dunyi, a Chinese scholar of Confucianism, active in the 11th century.

It takes place of my concern in seven points. The Photos are mainly taken at Toshodai-ji Temple, Nara in Japan.

  • Although lotus got out from the mud, never got covered in mud,
  • Washed by pure ripples, with a spotless appearance,
  • The inside of the stem is hollow and the outside is straight,
  • Fragrance is more fresh from a distance,
  • Standing straight and clean
  • You can look at it from a distance, but you can’t touch it casually.
